INTRODUCING LION’S PEAK ESTATE
Set along the historic Kloof Nek Road, Lion’s Peak Estate unveils a collection of seven* private residences sculpted into the slopes of Table Mountain. A solution to a modern paradox: living in quiet dialogue with nature without sacrificing urban convenience.
A development by SK Properties
Set at the crest of one of Cape Town’s most iconic junctures, Lion’s Peak occupies a rare vantage point where mountain, ocean, and city converge. Just steps from the trails of Table Mountain, the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, and the cosmopolitan heartbeat of the city, Lion’s Peak offers a lifestyle of refined accessibility; private enough to feel worlds apart, yet moments from the city’s vibrant core.

WHERE NATURE'S GRANDEUR MEETS URBAN COMFORT
Designed by award-winning Kritzinger Architects, Lion's Peak embodies a philosophy of refined simplicity. Raw off-shutter concrete and timber accents ground each residence in its dramatic setting, while cascading greenery softens the structured geometry. Inside, three-meter ceilings and premium Italian finishes add quiet sophistication while discreet climate and security systems disappear into the architecture, delivering seamless comfort without visual clutter. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the boundary to the outdoors, extending the living spaces into private gardens, pools, and the sweeping views beyond. Here, form and function work in perfect harmony, creating architecture that feels as natural as the view it frames.

ARCHITECTURE IN DIALOGUE WITH NATURE
Each residence unfolds across three expansive levels, beginning with a seamless and secure arrival. From the basement parking, a dual-entry lift, shared with only one neighbour and accessed via independent lobbies, delivers residents directly into their homes. The ground floors open-plan layout is dedicated to entertaining and daily life, where kitchen, dining, and living areas flow outwards onto private terraces and landscaped gardens. The upper levels are reserved for life's quieter moments. Two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms for family and guests sit on the first floor, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the owner's suite. A private sanctuary defined by sweeping views of mountain, harbour and cty, complete with a spa-like bathroom and walk-in closet.

A Layered
Site
Before Lion's Peak, this site formed part of a small but notable chapter in Cape Town's mountain history.
In the late nineteenth century, a modest Victorian structure known as the Kloof Temperance Hotel occupied the land. Positioned along the original lower contour route across Kloof Nek, it served travellers moving between the city and Camps Bay, many arriving by the electric mountain tramway that once carried passengers through pine-lined avenues along Kloof Road.
As the upper road was formalised and the lower route disappeared, the property became increasingly concealed below the crest of Kloof Nek Road. What was once a visible stop along the pass evolved into a private residence, set quietly into the slope, a site so discreet that, for much of the last century, few beyond its owners even knew it existed. Over time, the structure was altered and extended but portions of the original masonry core remain embedded within what is today referred to as the Manor House.
Today, the Manor House will form part of the new composition, integrated into the estate and given renewed purpose within a contemporary architectural framework. Alongside it, the six new residences will be introduced into the landscape. Together, old and new form a cohesive whole, distinct in expression, aligned in intent. Lion's Peak moves forward without erasing what came before. Architecture that builds upon its site, rather than beginning again.
